Views from The Ridge 8.23.22
Sunset Ridge is a church that desires to follow Jesus, reach people, and radiate God’s love and hope to all.
With the help of our community, we’re creating a beautiful new community park in place of what is now our under-utilized annex lot.
The plans for Charis Park at Sunset Ridge were unveiled this past Sunday. To read more about the Park project see yesterday’s Goodness Weekly, the Charis Collective’s weekly update.

Life Groups for this fall
As has been previously announced, we will start up life groups again in September after completion of the current series on The Art of Neighboring. That series will end on Sunday, September 4th. Our next course of study will be based on the book by James Bryan Smith, The Good and Beautiful Community, which focuses on helping us live in relationship with others as apprentices of Jesus. This study will be a natural follow-up to our current study on how to better love our neighbor.
On Sunday, September 11th, Riley will teach the introduction to this study in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 AM for everyone - similar to what has been done during the summer series. Then, starting September 18th, we will break into our life groups at their regularly scheduled times for the new study.
Books have been purchased and will be provided (at no cost to the life group participants). These will be placed in the foyer on Sunday, September 4th, for pick-up.
We encourage everyone to participate as this study fits with our covenant renewal process. If you are new to Life Groups or if you have questions, please contact Randy Rutland.
Thank you.
Randy Rutland, for the elders

Praises and Prayers
Thank you for your generous donations of supplies and funds to help children at our beloved Camelot Elementary. Please continue to pray for teachers, students and personnel as they return for another school year. Pray also for the ways, means, and the hands & feet to meet the needs of students and families at this particular school we’ve chosen to serve.

Care for Our People
We are putting together two teams to provide care for the people around us. Our pastoral care team will be focused on offering spiritual support and consideration for our immediate congregation. Our community care team is more outwardly-focused, concerned with the more tangible needs of our neighbors in the Charis community. If you’re interested in joining either of these teams, click the links above to connect to the team coordinators!
Covenant Renewal Process
This fall, we will go through a process of reaffirming our commitments to each other, this community, and to God. Our covenant here at Sunset Ridge is one that offers a tending of one’s soul and meaningful discipleship and asks for an intentional involvement with our vision and where we hope to grow as a church. We want to strengthen relationships with one another and explore ways of serving faithfully together in different areas of our church. This is also a season of reminding one another what we believe and why we are here in this particular place at this particular moment.
If you would like more information about this process or would like to get connected, please contact chelsea@sunsetridgechurch.org.
God, we gather in gratitude, thankful for the ways you seek to revive us! Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts work together to praise you in this hour. Grant your Spirit to move our hearts and inspire each of us to share your steadfast love with all whom we encounter. Help us to join in giving only what is good, not only today but every day. Amen
