Connections
5th Sundays start August 31st!
Four times a year (on months with a fifth Sunday), our children’s ministry will join the congregation for worship in the sanctuary. These gatherings will help children see, hear, and join in the rhythms of faith. Together we'll sing, pray, listen, and break bread, and we hope our family-friendly sermons will spark conversations at home. The nursery will remain open, and we will continue to offer a class to children in Pre-K and Kindergarten.
This Week
Saturday, August 16th, 10 AM - 12 PM, Soap Making with Sarah from Enchanted Acres

His to Keep
Adair Griffin & Audrey Hanzel, Sunset Ridge Youth Group
This week in our 11:00 service we were blessed to hear an original worship song written and performed by two of our youth group members Adair Griffin and Audrey Hanzel. It was a privilege to witness their gifts and see our community surround and support them. A message from Adair and the lyrics to their new song: His To Keep
A couple of weeks ago, we went to Worship Lab during youth group. We were having a sleepover that night and decided on the way home that we wanted to write an original worship song. We stayed up late finding verses and creating lyrics that we connected to. We were so honored to be able to share it with everyone at church!
His to Keep
I was driving 90 something
Looking for A sign from you
Stuck in darkness I know it’s all harmless
But all my problems seemed so big and blue
Don’t know where I’m going
They said you’d lead the way
I’m telling you I’m searching
So will you answer when I pray?
I’m stuck in the desert I’m reaching for your hand
I said “Sir this path is winding and I don’t where to stand”
Have you abandoned me?
How do I go back to how it used to be?
Have I forsaken you?
Where’s my faith, it seems out of view
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
I want to dwell in your house and I wanna hear you speak
I’ve gone hours and hours and haven’t heard your voice
It’s hard enough tuning out the world's noise
Don’t know where I’m going
They said you’d lead the way
I’m telling you I’m searching
So will you answer when I pray?
I’m stuck in the desert I’m reaching for your hand
I said “Sir this path is winding and I don’t where to stand”
Have you abandoned me?
How can I go back to how it used to be?
Have I forsaken you?
Where’s my faith, it seems out of view
I was so tired of chasing, something that can’t be caught
I wanted to rest and in the stillness I was taught
That when it is calm and quiet, if I wait patiently for you
Your presence will come and find me, and show me all that is true
I don’t need to know where I’m going, I can walk it blind
I don’t need to see your face to know you’re right there by my side
You left the 99 to find your one lost sheep
The Lord is my shepherd and I am his to keep
Praises
We lift up all of our students, caregivers, teachers, and administrators as they enter the new school year. May they be a light in each room they enter and may they be met with kindness.
Prayers of the People
We express sympathy to Glennie Scalercio and her family on the death of her grandson, Anthony Scalercio, on August 7. In honor of Anthony’s wishes, no service will be held.
We hold the families who have lost children in the Hill Country flooding especially as the new school year begins. May we honor and remember them in our daily prayers. Lord be especially close to them now.
