Who We Are

We're a 77-year-old church in the Terrell Heights neighborhood of San Antonio—and somehow, it feels like we're just getting started.

Sunset Ridge Church is a community rooted in deep, faithful commitment to Jesus—and out of that commitment, we've become a place of growth, welcome, and sacred imagination.

If you wish to learn more about how to get involved at Sunset Ridge, fill out our connection card below, and we’ll reach out to you with more information.

What we believe shapes how we live

At Sunset Ridge, we seek to be a Christ-centered community grounded in what we call the extreme center—a countercultural commitment to life beyond the polarizations that so often divide our world. Rather than aligning with political ideologies, we are shaped by the radical way of Jesus, who welcomed outcasts, challenged power with love, and built bridges where others built walls.

We strive to be a spacious and courageous community—one where all people can encounter the transforming presence of God, belong in authentic relationship, and participate fully in the life of the church.

Our mission is shaped by four core pillars:

  • Radical Hospitality

  • Spirit-Led

  • Sacred Creativity

  • Incarnational Community

These values guide everything we do—from worship and teaching to how we serve our neighbors—so that all who come through our doors experience deep welcome, spiritual depth, and purposeful engagement.

Read more about how we carried out these values in our 2024 Annual Report.

Part of Something Bigger

Sunset Ridge Church is home to the Sunset Ridge Collective, the outward-facing, missional expression of our community launched in 2021. The Collective is rooted in a simple conviction: that the church belongs to its neighborhood. Through Charis Park, the Sunset Ridge Farmers Market, One Another Coffee Trailer, Sprouts School, and a coworking space, we've transformed our campus into a place where the whole community is welcome—not just on Sundays. If the Church is where we gather and grow, the Collective is how we show up for San Antonio. For many neighbors, it's been their first point of connection with Sunset Ridge.
