Waiting With Courage

Wednesday, December 3: Waiting during Advent is filled with expectation. While we wait, God works. Courage means keeping our hearts open even when we cannot see what comes next.

Waiting can feel unbearable. We want movement, answers, certainty. Yet Scripture reminds us that waiting is often where faith grows deep roots. Courage is the quiet decision to stay available to God’s work as we remain hopeful, even when the outcome is unknown.

Advent teaches us to wait differently - not in frustration, but in expectancy. God is not idle in the silence. The waiting places are often where divine transformation happens beneath the surface.

So today, if you find yourself in one of those “in-between spaces,” hold your heart steady. Courage may just look like one lit candle in a room that is still dim. We trust that dawn will find us in due time.

Practice

Take three deep breaths and whisper, “I trust you, God.”

For Teens

What’s something you’re waiting for? Share it with a trusted friend and ask them to pray for you.

Wonder

Sometimes we must wait. Like a seed in the dark soil before it grows, much happens in the waiting. God is devoted to bringing life out of hidden places.

Together

Plant a seed or hold one in your hand. Pray: “God, help us wait with courage and hope.”
