Community Connections
This coming Sunday, October 26, marks one year since the opening of Charis Park. It’s been an incredible year of neighbors gathering, children exploring, farmers providing, and nature flourishing in what was once a parking lot. As the steward of Charis Park, Sunset Ridge Collective, the church’s community-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm, directly oversees the care and maintenance of the park year round. This care includes park repairs and maintenance, seasonal plantings, and new installations, as well as community programming like the Sunset Ridge Farmers market every weekend.
To mark the park’s one year anniversary, we’re officially launching Friends of Charis Park, a donor membership, to ensure the park’s sustainability for generations to come. Friends will not only directly offset the operating costs of the park—which total $60,000+ every year—but they’ll also have the opportunity to engage with the park more deeply through quarterly volunteer days, farm field trips, and our first annual farm to table dinner happening next year.
We have several membership tiers, and are excited to invite you to join us as a Founding Friend now through December 1st when you sign up at the Pollinator level and above. As a thank you, all Founding Friends will receive a limited edition Founding Friend hat along with their regular member benefits.
Become a Friend of Charis Park here.

Flourishing in the Church Survey – This Sunday
We’re excited to announce that this weekend at the end of both services, our congregation at Sunset Ridge Church will participate in the Flourishing in the Church Survey. What makes this particularly special: we’ll be the second church out of only 12 in the U.S. selected to engage in this major research effort.
This initiative is part of the prestigious Global Flourishing Study (GFS)—a collaboration among Baylor University, Harvard University’s Human Flourishing Program, Gallup, and the Center for Open Science—which investigates what it takes for people and communities to truly flourish.
The survey takes about 10–15 minutes and is anonymous. You’ll have the chance to reflect on your well-being, your spiritual life, and your connection within our church family as we join this powerful study together. Your honest input will help guide how our church grows and serves in the days ahead.
Thank you for being part of this journey — your voice matters.
