Saturday, June 3, 8pm: Family Night at Toyota Field (5106 David Edwards Dr.)
Contact Riley Stirman (riley@sunsetridgechurch.org) to reserve your San Antonio FC Soccer game tickets.
At the very beginning of the Vision Team process, the entire group spent a concentrated amount of time walking the grounds and facility in prayer.
When we came back we were asked to write what we noticed and those words were placed on the glass doors in the Fellowship Hall.
Many of our members wrote “green space”, “park”, “garden”, and the seeds for what is now being cultivated were planted.
Often the question is asked “Why build a park?” There are many “whys” that came to mind that day as we all walked and prayed, and some that we couldn’t have anticipated would be present in 2023, all informing the mission of the park.
Charis Park at Sunset Ridge will be a peaceful, natural oasis that invites neighbors to connect with one another and nature. Each visit, neighbors of all ages experience wonder as they discover new ways to gather, to learn, to eat, to play and to rest.
The prayer for this place is that the goodness of God, and the goodness of God’s creation would be so evident at each visit. That people would feel less lonely, less isolated, and more connected to one another.
We can’t wait to celebrate with the formal groundbreaking ceremony this coming Saturday at 11:00. Please check our social media accounts for any weather delays - the ceremony will happen rain or shine!

Good News
Last week, our pastoral leader, Jess Lowry, was invited to speak on a panel at the Pepperdine Bible Lectures in Malibu, California. As one of the few women that hold lead ministry positions in the Church of Christ, Jess spoke alongside three influential women working for the goodness of those in their communities.
Our team and friends came to support Jess and hear her speak about her work with Sunset Ridge Church and Charis Collective over the years. We’re so proud of all the goodness pouring from her heart into the community and the world. Thank you, Jess!
