Hunter brings his love for songwriting, collaboration, and the transcendent moments of worship to his role at Sunset Ridge. Though he never expected to be part of worship ministry—much less in a leadership role. What started as a reluctant “yes” to playing keyboard grew into a passion for worship and writing music for the church. That small beginning became a calling, and today he loves creating worship that feels authentic, inclusive, timeless, and fresh.

He holds a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, and spent a decade working in higher education before stepping into ministry. At Sunset Ridge, Hunter leads the 11 a.m. worship service, guides the worship team, and helps shape the liturgy and flow of worship each week.

He and his wife, Taylor—Deputy Director at Sunset Ridge—are raising two children. When he’s not at the piano or writing songs, you’ll probably find him on the basketball court, still a little amazed at the path that brought him here.
